Hungarian Agricultural Position in the World Economy
Synopsis: 

Hungary’s natural endowments, comparative advantages, tradition in agricultural production and the accumulated agrarian expertise make it possible to maintain a net agricultural export position and to accomplish an export-oriented agricultural development strategy. Its main external condition is adaptation to the changes in the world agricultural system. The most important factors to be taken into account are as follows: the expected changes in the world agricultural markets, in agricultural trade and price formation; the WTO regulations concerning agricultural production and exports; the future development of the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy and the terms of Hungary’s agricultural accession to the EU; the agricultural situation of the main agricultural actors and partners, like the USA, the countries of Eastern and Central Europe, Russia, China, etc.
