A nemzeti innovációs rendszer elemei közötti kapcsolatok fejlesztését célozzák a regionális egyetemi tudásközpontok, nemcsak a résztvevők, hanem egy-egy régió javára is. Az Elektronikus Jármű és Járműirányítási Tudásközpont a magyarországi autóipari hagyományokra építve kíván szakterületén integrátorként fellépve tudásszolgáltatást nyújtani a potenciális vevőknek. Ennek érdekében az egyetemi hagyományokat ötvözik az ipari kutatás-fejlesztési gyakorlattal. A tudásközpont működésének középpontjában a létrehozása óta eltelt két évben az ipar-egyetem együttműködés feltételeinek kialakítása, az egyes kutatási projektek gazdasági életképességének biztosítása állt. Ugyanakkor egyelőre korlátozottan figyelhető meg a tevékenység regionális hatása.*

Transforming university-industry R&D co-operation
Synopsis: 

The regional university knowledge centres aim to enhance the interactions among the elements of the national innovation system not only for the benefit of the partners but for their region. The Advanced Vehicles and Vehicle Control Knowledge Centre building on the traditions of the Hungarian automotive industry would like to become an integrator in their specific area and provide knowledge services for their potential customers. The Centre combines the academic research traditions with the industrial research and development practices for the benefit of all partners by employing
the proper human resources. Already in the first two years of the existence of the Centre the initiative seems to be successful in enhancing the university-industry collaboration as well as in the economic utilisation of some of the research projects. However
the regional impact of the Centre so far seems to be limited.
